Pete Moran, President and Founder of Rezin Sports Marketing takes us through his career as Marketing Manager with Red Bull, lessons learned from twelve years at Red Bull and the launching of his own Sports Marketing firm, Rezin Sports Marketing. Club news includes information on the wrap up of our BBRC Golf Tournament, a Membership Moment by Brad Baumann, October Adoption Party, Rotaract and Memorial for Norm Johnson.
Speaker
Bob Holert introduced our guest speaker, Pete Moran. In 2009, Pete founded his own Sports Marketing Company, Rezin, to align brands with athletes and provide brand consulting. His career in Sports Marketing sprung from his family background in radio, an “attention disorder”, and a love for skiing and the outdoors. As Marketing Manager for Intrawest at Snowshoe Mountain Development, and later in roles as Marketing Manager for Red Bull North America and Sports Marketing Manager for the Western region, Pete shared experience of leading Red Bull to number one in the energy drink category, working A-level athletes and producing top level events. Also, he shared lessons learned from the Red Bull experience, like “why less in more, ok to say no and warnings about the logo graveyard”.
After 12 years with Red Bull, Pete decided to start his own Sports Marketing Company which aligns brands with athletes and provides brand consulting. The company started with two clients; Kassey Keller of the Seattle Sounders and Josh Brown of the New York Giants. With a mission and vision to be aligned with good and like-minded people, to be the “Best in Field”, to bring ideas (often crazy ideas) to reality while having fun and treating clients like family, the company has now grown to represent ten clients, including Marshawn Lynch and Marcus Trufant of the Seattle Seahawks, and over twenty brands, including Anheuser-Busch, Rockstar, Muscle Milk, Starbucks and Vita Coco.
Going forward, Rezin will continue to bring ideas to life with a focus to do what has not been done before, staying true to the mission and doing the right thing.
