Longtime Rotarian and award-winning filmmaker and author Jim Jenner will share a short film on the surprising power of pet pigeons in improving children’s lives. In addition, he will share his new novel “The Featherhood”.
About the Speaker
Jim Jenner is a sixth-generation Northwesterner who joined the Olympia Rotary Club in 1981. He became the President of that club and later was also President of the Philipsburg Montana Rotary Club, where he now lives.
Raised on Mercer Island, Jim first wrote professionally at 18 for the South China Post in Hong Kong where he joined CBS News and worked throughout Asia and the USA as a news producer. He returned to the Northwest and founded his own cable advertising production company in 1976. By 1993 the company had grown to six offices and Jim sold the ad division to what is now Comcast. He then proceeded to publish documentary films, including an award-winning series on Route 66 and more than a dozen films about his childhood interest, pigeons.
