Joining us today is Brent Beardall, EVP and Chief Financial Officer of Washington Federal, whose topic is “A Peek Behind the Scenes at the FDIC”. Washington Federal is a community bank managing 188 branches in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. The bank has had positive earnings since its inception in 1917 and is the nation’s 54th largest publicly traded bank. As of July 2013, the bank has paid 122 consecutive quarterly dividends.
About the Speaker
An outgoing and accomplished public speaker, Brent has been Executive Vice President and CFO since October 2007. He served as Senior Vice President and CFO since 2003, after serving as Controller at Washington Federal starting in 2001. Before joining the bank, he was an auditor and audit manager for Deloitte & Touche LLP for six years. He holds a BS and Masters in Professional Accounting from Brigham Young University. The Puget Sound Business Journal named Brent "CFO of the Year" in 2012.
